Managing roads, public amenities, boat ramp and camping facilities is of paramount importance. In striving to improve the infrastructure throughout Capel Sound Foreshores it is hoped we will enable a healthy lifestyle for all visitors.

The challenge of preserving the existing infrastructure and providing the required maintenance including new asset projects is a key challenge. To help us manage these better we have divided them into two streams -  Maintenance and Projects.

Projects

Our major project is the re-development of the day-visitor area at the end of Trueman’s Road -  which we currently refer to as the Trueman’s Precinct. This precinct covers an area of around 200m from east to west and is well used by locals and visitors all year round. We are now working with the Mornington Peninsula Shire to re-design and re-develop the area so it better meets everyone's needs.

Trueman’s Road Re-development

Capel Sound Foreshores Committee of Management is seeking community support and input into our plans to redevelop the foreshore area around Trueman’s Road Beach Car Park. This could include a new toilet block, playground, boardwalk and additional picnic facilities.

The Committee met with both local federal and state government representatives, Greg Hunt MP and Chris Brayne MP respectively. These meetings were to discuss the redevelopment of Truemans Road Beach precinct. We are seeking funding assistance to help complete the project.

Below are the draft plans of the planned redevelopment. An essential part of this process is community participation in decision making to ensure we meet the needs of the local community. If you did not attend the open discussion session in October last year and have any ideas, comments or questions please submit them using the form at the bottom of this page.
